It’s going to happen – A groupwatch/collaboration on Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199!

It’s just Mechanical Anime Reviews and myself to start, but I hope a bunch of other bloggers and readers will join in.  Hit the jump, and let’s get into the details.

How will it work?  I’m going to host the weekly main post with my comments and links to all the participant’s entries.  It’ll be posted every Friday afternoon PST (Pacific Standard Time).   If you want to take part, just have your post for that week up by noon (PST) Friday morning.  I’ll see it in my feed if I follow you.  If I don’t follow you, you can comment on the previous week’s post, hit me up using my contact form, or @ me on Twitter.  I’ll try and follow as many back as humanly possible so I don’t miss anyone.  (I apologize in advance, but it’s just not possible to follow everyone without getting swamped.)

What kind of content do we want?  Pretty much anything related to 2199.  Episode reviews.  Thoughts on the themes.  Thoughts and reflections on the characters.  Don’t care if you’re watching the sub or if you’re watching the dub.  Just make it related to 2199.

Spoiler policy…  Hoo boy, this is going to be a minefield.  I’ll leave it up to the individual blogger, but here’s how I’m going to handle it.   The show has been available for a number of years, and there’s a lot of people who’ve seen it.  Spoilers about future episodes are inevitable to some degree.  Let’s see how putting spoiler material in blockquotes so people can know scroll past it works.
