Some shows were good this week, others less so. Some shows get a line of two, and others a paragraph or more! (Ok, its hard to come up with an exciting intro paragraph each week…) Hit the break to see my thoughts, then let me know yours down in the comments! Continue reading “Spring 2017 – Week 3”
Busy, busy week… and, as I posted earlier, I spent time reading that I should have spent watching anime. And that’s something I never thought I’d post. (My love of reading and learning is well-known among my IRL friends.) But it also reflects my approach to this blog – firmly intending for anime watching and blogging to remain fun and not become a chore.
Anyhow, I got to most everything important this week, so hit the break and let’s dive in!
A couple of weeks back, I impulsively checked out a couple of books from the local library on traditional Japanese architecture. (I have to drive right past it on my way to the grocery store… so I stop by quite often.) A little digging in their bibliographies and some things found on the web, a visit to the all-too-tempting interlibrary loan section of my library’s website… and this happened:
Whew Premiere Week (and some) is finally over. There’s a few keepers so far, but also quite a bit of out-and-out meh on track for a third ep drop… Which I really need to do if I want to cut back to a more manageable number this season. Surprisingly, only one first ep drop this season!
I came across this the other day, and pretty much I’ve watched it at least once a day for last several, and I’ve been meaning to share here. Winner at Anime Boston’s AMV contest a couple of weeks back, it’s a stunning montage of the history of TV anime showing some of the most popular and influential shows of the last forty odd years. It’s telling that even if I haven’t seen many of the older anime shown, I still recognize them.
Three (anime related) things that happened yesterday and which I wrote up brief commentary on while not working on my season summary. Fortunately, Maid Dragon is stretching into next week so I can justify giving myself a few more days to work on it.
