So, a challenge popped up in my Facebook memories on Wednesday – match categories to song titles. Back then, for my not anime fan friends, it was all was (for lack of a better term) normal music. I talked about going back and redoing it with anime music… But until today, I never did.
So, hit the jump and let’s take the challenge! (And you can join in!)

So, here’s the original challenge and my responses. Quite a variety of music, because I actually have pretty broad tastes.
But it turned out to be somewhat harder with anime music… Keep scrolling to see how I did.
Something to wear:
Hajimari no Setsuna – Akebi’s Sailor Uniform
(Yeah, I’m cheating just a little bit interpreting the challenge a little broadly.)
A Place
Swordland – Sword Art Online
If I didn’t cheat just a little bit because I couldn’t come up with answer, I wouldn’t have been able to link to an awesome live version of one of SAO’s signature tracks.
An Animal
Crow Song – Angel Beats!
Since a crow isn’t vegetable or mineral, eh, close enough. :)
Sorry Yui fans, the original Iwasawa version is the version.
There used to be a clip of the whole cafeteria scene on YouTube… But of course now that I want it, I can’t find it.
A Number
7 Girls War – Wake Up Girls!
I’m just going with 7 Girls War, same as I did originally. Mostly because as I write this – it’s the tenth anniversary of the anime’s premiere. After all these years, I’m still something of a fan.
A Color
EVERBLUE – Blue Period
Because both the song title and the anime title match up, this was a no brainer… And it’s also a darn fine song.
And it’s a crying shame the anime didn’t get the attention it deserved because it streamed weekly on Netflix. Netflix is finally starting to get it, and the anime community needs to get with the program.
Though this song occurred to me first, this is actually one of the easier categories because there’s an absolute ton of songs with colors in the title.
A Girls Name
Lucy – Nana
Still, musically speaking, one of the best anime ever… And a double bullseye because both the anime title and the song title are girl’s names!
For this category I almost went with the iconic Rose, but it wasn’t technically being used as a girl’s name.
A Boy’s Name
OK, I hit a wall here. And while I can think of couple where a male character’s last name is used in the title of the anime… That’s pushing the boundaries a bit much even for me.
Profession
Rakuen Toshi – Cop Craft
It took a while and quite a bit of pondering before I suddenly realized that police office/detective is a profession…
Day of the Week
As with “A Boy’s Name” above, I’m, drawing a complete blank here.

And, there you have it! Yeah, I played fast and loose, but it’s kind of more fun that way.
I’m going to drop a copy of the original list, feel free to attempt the challenge yourself! Social media, your own blog, down in the comments, whatever. If you can, go ahead and link me so I can see your results!
Ok music lovers — here are the rules:
Answer each category with a SONG TITLE. No repeats and don’t use the internet (it’s tempting but try not to). Go with the first song that comes to mind, change the answers to your own (can’t steal mine).
Be sure to put on your page, not mine.

I think this list says something about my taste in music ??
It’s harder than you think!
Have Fun!

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed the music, and I hope you choose to play too!
That’s rather difficult for me, since I usually don’t know what the songs are called, and often I don’t know the Japanese words. So in the end, I can think only of one, and I’m not entirely sure what it’s called:
Animal: The Wolf Whistling Song (The Wolf Whistle Song?): ED – Spice and Wolf

That is a fun song, and nice match with both anime and song titles fitting the category!
