Yamato 2199 Group Watch – Episode 16

Episode 16 – Alternative Futures

The crew of the Yamato face a new, unexpected, and dangerous enemy this week…  one that walks the decks of the Yamato herself…

Hit the jump and let’s dive into this week’s episode!

Scott does a bang up job of covering the plot the week in his review (linked down at the bottom), so I’d thought I’d hit some details…

This episode isn’t the first time the topic of hiding from the Gamilas by finding a new place for humanity to live has come up The Izumo Plan has been mentioned before, particularly back in Episode 8.  I can’t find the ep, I was sure I had mentioned it before, but Lt. Niimi also has a Izumo Plan coffee cup.  She’s been thinking about this for a long time.

Nor is this the first time Yuuki’s past and her possession of alien technology has been brought to our attention…  Again, Episode 8 (linked above), and Episode 14.

One of the things I love about 2199 is how it drops hints, and the picks them back up again…  There’s a lot of good writing in this show.

Anyhow, sorry for the abbreviated post this week…  As I mentioned yesterday, this has been something of a h*ll week.  Hopefully with everything now caught up, I’ll be able to get back in my groove next.
