The wordpress anime awards 2018: Ladies and Gentlemen, the results are in!

The fans have spoken and we have listened! The results of the first ever WordPress Anime Awards are in!

Honestly, I’m surprised and pleased at the broad range of shows represented. Some were the ones I suspected, others were a bit of a surprise… But it does show that anime fandom isn’t monolithic and does like a broad variety.

Of course, it goes without saying that I’m pleased the fans recognized Yorimoi! :)

What better way to start the year then with a look back, or more precisely the results of the first ever anime awards that were held on WordPress. After a careful selection by a wonderful group of performers: Cactus Matt, Derek Lyons, Marthaurion, Matt Doyle, Jon Spencer, Karandi, Star & Luna, BiblioNyan, Lethargic Ramblings, Ano Nora, Ty-chama, Mech Anime Reviews, itsaanimething, and myself, our intrepid ringmaster the great and wonderful Ayano presented all the categories to you in this  amazing post. After that all of you voted for your favorites for which we all thank you so much! But alas, the carnival closed at the stroke of midnight on december the 31st 2018. Spring 2018 – Week 12, finales abound!

It’s been a long trip we’ve made together…  there’s been some highs, been some lows, but Spring 2018 is finally over.  This week, I wrap up the rest finales in my own inimitable grumpy old man style.  Give it a read, and drop me a comment letting me know what you think!

Spring 2018 – a quick note.

After being out very late on Tuesday night on a club photo-shoot, I felt like crap on Wednesday and decided to delay my weekly posting to Thursday…  Then on Thursday, I realized that there was only 4 finales left to cover.  (Rokuhoudou, Tada-kun, My Hero Academia, and SAOA:GGO.)  So, the Week 12 post will be delayed to Sunday or Monday to wrap up all the remaining finales in one post.

So, looking forward here’s what my posting schedule looks like for the next week or so.

  • Later today:  Summer 2018 Preview.
  • Sun or Mon: Spring 2018 – Week 12.
  • Late next week or early the week after:  Spring 2018 Season Review.
  • Starting next week: Summer 2018 First Impressions.

Wednesday of next week is a holiday, and we’re busy the next weekend (the 7th/8th) and that will likely affect the timing of my Review and First Impressions posts.

I got motivated, and most of the useful images from the photo shoot are already edited, so I’ll also have a “Recent Photography” post up soon.
