I wouldn’t say the Queen is one of my favorites bands, but I do enjoy a great deal of their music. And of course, it’s always fun to combine two things I enjoy.. So, as promised when I posted the Maid Dragon AMV, here’s a collection of anime AMV’s that use Queen for their music.

There’s a ton of Boku no Hero Academia AMV’s out there, almost all featuring Deku, or Bakugo, or Todoroki. When she is the subject, Ochako is almost always paired with Deku and it’s all about the shipping…
This is patently unfair. As we saw in the second season, she’s a person in her own right with her own motivations and goals. That’s why I’m pleased as punch to share this AMV, which puts Ochako Uraraka right where she should be – front and center in her own story.

Of all the myriad ways I’ve been introduced to anime over the years, I recently found myself thinking back on the times when I could thank (or blame) an AMV for turning me on to a new series. Maybe I already had my eye on that show for a while and just needed that extra nudge to finally go watch it, or maybe I had never heard of the show at all before an AMV came along and introduced me to it. A long time ago, Derek offered to let me write a guest entry here if I ever felt like it, and I decided it would be fun to take him up on that offer and share some of my favorite AMVs that have led me to try new anime.

Like most of us, I don’t obsess over stats. Doesn’t mean I don’t pay attention though. Checking them today (when I should be working on tomorrow’s post) I found pleasant news indeed. Sometime in the last couple of weeks, my total views and visitors for 2018 blew past the total for all of 2017!
Even more surprising… I was convinced that my output was down for the year. But with almost all of a quarter left to go, I’m closing in on last year’s total.
(And when I went searching, I did not expect to find an AMV using a disco era song… But there it is. So you get to watch an AMV rather than a disco era music video.)
Just for today, it’s an open bar here at the Lounge! Drinks are on the house!

(Edit) Nowadays, I’d probably go into much greater detail about the AMV… I probably should have anyhow. Ah well, what’s done is done.
I came across this the other day, and pretty much I’ve watched it at least once a day for last several, and I’ve been meaning to share here. Winner at Anime Boston’s AMV contest a couple of weeks back, it’s a stunning montage of the history of TV anime showing some of the most popular and influential shows of the last forty odd years. It’s telling that even if I haven’t seen many of the older anime shown, I still recognize them.
